Issa Sikiti da Silva is an award-winning freelance journalist who has travelled extensively across Africa, doing research and reporting on issues such as housing, poverty, human rights, women’s empowerment, climate, ICT and science and development, and education, among others. He won the SADC Media 2010 Awards, in print category. Born in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, he lived in South Africa for 18 years, where he worked in the media industry for about 10 years. He also worked as a foreign correspondent in West Africa for about four years. His work has been published in more than 40 media outlets around the world.
