Call for short term consultants to undertake data analysis and dashboard design
The Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa (CAHF) promotes investment in affordable housing and housing finance across Africa. We champion market intelligence—data, market analytics and research—to stimulate investor interest and to support better policy. Two of our key programmes are the Data Agenda for Housing for Africa and the Open Access Initiative which seek to build stronger data infrastructure for the housing and housing finance market. In addition, our flagship publication, the Housing Finance in Africa Yearbook, involves data collection from every country in Africa. Finally, our South Africa programme provides analysis of deeds data to better understand residential property markets in urban areas.
As part of programme implementation, we often have discrete data projects or tasks which need to be undertaken. For example, this might be the updating or construction of a dashboard on Tableau, the integration of various datasets, cleaning or inputting data, or the development of graphs and tables on Tableau. We are looking for available consultants with Microsoft Excel and Tableau and other data analytics, management and visualisation skills who we can call upon for ad-hoc projects, of a half-day to 2-3 weeks.
If you are a student currently doing your Masters, with skills in Tableau and Excel, and you want to earn some extra funds applying your skills, we want to meet you. Or perhaps you are a data analyst or housing practitioner who is currently employed part-time or seeking full-time employment. We would like to form a small pool of data consultants whom we can draw upon. The work can be done remotely, and therefore you could be based in Johannesburg, where CAHF’s office is located, in South Africa, or in another country.
In order to apply, please click on this link, fill out the short Google form and attach your cover letter and CV. We are urgently looking for someone to do some work in the next 6 months (Feb-July), but we will accept applications on a rolling basis, so please let us know if you are interested.
