Challenges in Housing Finance and the Delivery Framework: Navigating the Gap

This is a presentation given by Kecia Rust at the February 2011 FinMark Forum. Firstly, it highlights the gap that exists in the housing market specifically for households earning R3500 – about R12 000.  The presentation then considers the context in which the gap market has emerged, focusing on housing supply, access to finance, and household indebtedness. Lastly, it presents ways of navigating through the gaps, highlighting the persistent challenges and the zones of opportunities.
