Entry-level housing markets & lessons from the Transaction Support Centre

On the 16th and 17th of April 2019, CAHF and 71point4 co-hosted a seminar on the lessons of the Transaction Support Centre, the action-research initiative that we have been running in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, since July 2018.  The seminar was attended by colleagues from the public and private sectors in South Africa: government officials from national, provincial and municipal level, lenders, conveyancers, estate agents, investment analysts, developers and others from across the housing value chain.  The presentation highlights how South Africa’s residential property market has transformed in the past twenty-five years, and highlights the various challenges that relate to residential resale transactions in entry-level housing markets.  We are very grateful for FNB’s sponsorship of the venue and refreshments for the Johannesburg event.

As the TSC in Khayelitsha continues, we are keen to hear your views and perspectives, and to include you in the programme.  For more information, and to find out how you can participate, please contact either CAHF or 71point4.
