Housing Support Services for Housing Microfinance Lending in East and Southern Africa: A Case Study of WAT Human Settlements Trust (WAT-HST) / WAT Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WAT-SACCOS)

The case study is the last one out of six other studies that were conducted as part of a research study into Housing Support Services. The case studies form part of a research study conducted for FinMark Trust and Rooftops Canada into the provision of housing support products and services for housing microfinance lending in East and Southern Africa.

The study aims to understand the extent to which housing support services form part of the housing microfinance process, whether these services can be enhanced and if so, how. Using an action-research approach the study examines the kind of housing support products and services accompanying housing microfinance in six diverse organisations in Kenya, Malawi, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.
