Overview of Housing Finance in Malawi

This presentation provides an overview of Malawi’s housing finance sector, drawn from the housing finance sector study – the 8^th report in a series exploring access to housing finance across Africa, with a particular emphasis on how poor and low-moderate income households finance their housing. The presentation provides an overview of Malawi’s macro-economy as it relates to housing finance, the legal and policy framework for housing and housing finance, the housing supply and demand factors at play, and how housing finance fits into this space.  The presentation concludes with some recommendations.
