Risk, Resilience & Recovery: Thinking about Covid-19 and Housing

Kecia Rust delivered the presentation at Shelter Afrique’s 39TH AGM and Symposium held on the 15th of September 2020.

The intention of the presentation is developing integrated urban and local area data management systems to monitor and measure the related impact of the pandemic on affordable housing and urban development space to facilitate evidence-based decision-making.

The presentation focused on the following:
– Thinking about Covid-19 and housing mainly focusing on the health, economic and lockdown impact
– Data needs in the categories below:
1. Addressing Risk
2. Stimulating Recovery
3. Ensuring Resilience
– Way forward highlighting the Integrated urban and local area data management systems which require the participation of multiple partners, actively sharing data on their piece of the value chain.
