Housing Finance Sector Studies

A series of studies that explore access to housing finance in various African countries, with a particular interest on the link between the functioning of the wider financial market and the performance of housing finance initiatives that meet the immediate housing needs of the poor in Africa. This project emerged from a 2006 Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa (CAHF) study that found the need for more publications on housing finance by local, in-country experts. The studies address, among other issues: the macroeconomy, policy and regulatory framework, housing supply and demand, access to housing finance, market segments and future challenges.
