Over 30 years’ experience of funding and legal capacity of housing, particular social and affordable. Executive Chair of housing agencies that have raised over US$1.5 billion in the capital markets plus US$1 billion in institutional debt. Responsible for setting up a debt aggregator and promoting the first index linked and unsecured debt issues and working with credit agencies and insurance companies to provide credit enhancements.
A non-executive director of a UK listed commercial property company and recently stepped down (after six years’ maximum statutory appointment) as Chair of an affordable housing provider with a portfolio of over 50 000 homes and a development arm building 1 500 new homes each year with total assets of over US$6 billion.
A key advisor on the funding and project management of the new affordable home ownership initiatives in Nigeria including the launch of a Help to Own product which aims to deliver 100 000 new homes each year. The funding arrangements for a series of pilot affordable housing projects in the Kyrgyz Republic and two major affordable housing schemes in Rwanda including the eco-city project and the potential for index linked and tax break instruments to be issued on the local capital markets.
