Matthew is a founding member of Shisaka and has been a director since its inception in 1993. He brings over 30 years of development experience to Shisaka, primarily in low income housing, urban regeneration and in socio-economic development programmes. With respect to housing, Matthew’s areas of specialisation include institutional and funding considerations, inner city housing projects, in-situ upgrade projects, community based and self help housing initiatives, social housing, private sector affordable rental initiatives, employer housing programmes, public housing initiatives as well as housing programme and project management, and strategic and risk management in respect of the full range of housing projects, programmes and organisations.
Matthew holds a Bachelors Degree in Building Science and a Masters Degree in Town and Regional Planning, both from the University of the Witwatersrand. He has also attended the Programme for Management Development at the Harvard Business School in the USA
